JHSF establishes an institution for those who might not have the opportunity to study independently. We provide a retreat-like, research work venue for creative study. JHSF is dedicated to supporting and investing in emerging and established creative individuals, as a not-profit empowerment foundation for artists, curators and all manner of creative people, who would benefit from a time and place away from their everyday life.
The Hyde Park experience, offers a uniquely diverse population in the City of Chicago to inspire creativity. Art is a powerful tool that brings people of all ages, creeds, circumstances and backgrounds together. It is a source of inspiration and hope for the future.
June Howes Stradford Foundation is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The work we do at our Arts Organization is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving some of our society’s biggest challenges.

Advocacy is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area.

ADVOCACY
Artist-In-Residence
With the Artists-In-Residence initiative, the goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. Artists working in all media and at any stage in their career are welcome to apply. Residencies are for one, three or six months.
Selected artists will receive an invitation to stay at the JHSFoundation Headquarters and receive a stipend. Artists are encouraged to create new works during their residency. Learn more about our program by getting in touch with our team today.

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Education is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact.
Education for the JHSFoundation also includes international exposure. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world.
